Introducing Noah Akira Tisdall...

Dear Family & Friends,

We are thrilled to announce the arrival of Noah Akira Tisdall – a.k.a. Peanut. Noah was born at 10:50 am on Saturday, October 25th at the American Hospital in Dubai. Weighing in at 6 lbs, 8 ounces he is a handsome lad indeed.

As near as we can make out Ang went into labour at about 6pm on Friday night. Over dinner we discussed the various symptoms Ang was experiencing and considered the possibilities. A few hours later the issue was no longer in doubt. We checked into the hospital at 4am and 7 hours later Noah arrived.

Both Noah and his mom are doing great. Ang was amazing throughout and Cheryl continues to be a big help.

We arrived home about 1 hour ago and are getting settled in. Photos will be up on our blog in a couple of days (http://jeff-angela.blogspot.com/). In the mean time, we look forward to introducing you to Noah soon and are excited to see what is in store for the 3 of us next.

Love,
Jeff, Angela and Noah.

Ultimate Afternoon Tea at the Burj Al Arab

Mom and I had tried to book the 'Ultimate Afternoon Tea' at the Burj Al Arab last time she was here but were unsuccessful. This time, we got a reservation in the Sahn Edar (lobby lounge) and had to cross our fingers that Peanut would hold out...we will thank him, when he is older.

Our 2.5 hour afternoon tea consisted of 7-courses, which we took photos of each but opted not to post. It was a great experience - very glad we got to do it.

It is pretty impressive.

Lobby water feature.
Sahn Edar - lobby lounge.

First course - little sandwiches and sparkling apple/peach juice.

Cheers.

Berries and cream.
There were over 50 teas to choose from. I enjoyed the 'Get the Power' (red currant and cola nut) with the hopes it would help me with the delivery.

Atlantis

There are a few new attractions since Mom's visit in February, so we figured we should check them out before D-day.

Today, we visited Atlantis at the Palm Jumeirah and check out the impressive lobby, aquarium and enjoyed a lite snack at a quaint cafe.

Lobby of Atlantis - very impressive. Fresh orchids everywhere.

Mom opted not to hold the falcon.

There were thousands of fish, sharks, rays, etc.

This whale should be in the tank.

Sammy the whale shark - there are campaigns all over Dubai and Facebook to free this whale shark.
Been there, done that. ;)

Anxiously Awaiting

Today was our baby's EDD (estimated due date). Unless s/he arrives in the next few hours, we will have to say that s/he is arriving on Jeff's clock or fashionably late.

Everyone is doing well. Jeff is off to his second hockey game but has agreed to check his mobile at half-time.

New Car - The Peanut Mobile

Peanut amazingly managed to hold off before we purchased a second car. Everyone who knows us, knows it is not an easy decision/purchase process for us to acquire a car - this time we manage to do it in an average amount of test drives but our brochure collection could fill a small library.

We happily settled on a Volvo XC90.

Will get more photos in the daylight.

Mighty Camels

Jeff had his first hockey game tonight! The league is called the Mighty Camels and he is #22 on the Al Mal Falcons. It is the biggest concentration of Canadians in Dubai.

They managed to beat the ECFT Canadians 7-3.

I might just be having a penguin. ;)

Mom's First Week Back

Mom flew in to help with us with Peanut's arrival. We were a little anxious that she might not arrive in time but we have managed to get in a few good days of pampering in before D-day.

Happy Thanksgiving!

After searching high and low, we found a small turkey. It was so small, I thought there may be a chance they mislabelled a chicken but after getting all the e-mails from back home about Thanksgiving dinners, I was hopeful.

It was a good size for the two of us with days of leftovers. Yum - Turkey!

Carving the bird.

The works.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Unemployed

Jeff managed to get a few days off between jobs, which was much deserved. We enjoyed relaxed mornings at home, many afternoons by the pool and a little calm before the storm.

One of many days at Hayya.
